Mildred Ilone was my grandmother’s name. She hated the name Ilone, but I thought it was not only unique but very beautiful. I heard the name again recently in my cousin’s obituary, who shared the same middle name as my grandmother. Seeing the name in print again reminded me how relevant it still felt, even 100 years after my grandmother was given the name. Hence, Mildred Ilone Photography and Fine Art Studio was born.
